How Does it work?

During your treatment, the laser emittes light which is then absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicles.  The laser will pulse for a fraction of a second, which will be long enough to heat the hair.  This will impede the follicle's ability to regrow.  This is why laser cannot work on white or blonde hairs as there is no pigment in the hair.

How long does a session last?

It all depends on the area, can be a few min for small areas, whereas a full body treatment can be anywhere from 1.5-2 hours.

How often can I do treatments?

You can do treatments every 4 to 6 weeks.

Is it painful?

Most people do not find it painful, however everyone is different.  Waxing is more painfull then laser hair removal.

What ages of people are suitable for laser hair removal?

As long as the individual has passed puberty they may have treatments.

What preparation is needed for my appointment?

You will need to shave the area the night before or morning of your appointment. A clean shave is required.

What is the difference between a chemical peel and a carbon peel facial?

-With a carbon peel we use heat instead of chemicals

-Carbon peels do not require any down time

-People with sensitive skin or certain skin conditions like eczema will usually experience less redness and irritation after a carbon peel vs a chemical peel.

What should I do prior to my appointment?

-Stop using retinol medications, Vit C serum for one week prior to your appointment

-Use sunscreen the week leading to your treatment

What should I expect during treatment?

-Your aesthetician will spread a layer of liquid carbon onto your face which will absorb oils, dirt, and dead skin cells from deep within your pores.

-We will wait 10 minutes for the product to dry

-After the carbon has dried, you will be given eye shields to protect your eyes from the laser.

-We then go over the area with the laser

You should see immediate results such as brighter, glowing skin and tighter pores. If you have sensitive skin, you may experience slight red/pinkish skin for an hour or less. If you have severe acne or acne scarring, it may take several treatments before you see a drastic change. Fine lines and wrinkles should be visibly diminished after one or more treatments. As anything, to maintain the results, regular treatments will help sustain the benefits of the treatment.

Aftercare:

-Be gentle with your skin, and continue to moisturize as you would (I'ts normal to experience flaking or experience dryness for a few days)

-Use Sunscreen regularly with at least 30 SPF for several day's after treatment

-Do not use any products containing retinol for at least 5 day's after treatment

-Do not exfoliate or use any abraisive or invasive skin treatments for minimum of 1 week

How often can i do treatments:

Carbon Peel Facials may be done every 2-3 weeks. This gap between treatments will allow for collagen regeneration between sessions.

Who should not get a Carbon Peel Facial:

-If you have an active infection or inflammation

How many sessions will I need?

-Everyone is different, but most people are between 8-10 sessions

Can I do a full arm in one sitting?

-No. We will have to treat half the arm, and you will need to return back one week later for the other half. This is due to the swelling that will occur after treatment. We do not want to affect your circulation.

How often should I come for treatments?

-Your first three sessions will be 8-10 weeks apart. After which we will spread out the sessions 10-12 weeks apart.

Can I remove a tattoo I got done 3 months ago?

-No. You will need to wait a minimum of 6 months after the tattoo was completed as the ink needs to be settled.

I want to remove microblading on my eyebrows, will it damage my hair?

-Yes, the laser could damage the follicle.

How does it wor?

-A burst of laser light travels at the speed of sound into the dermins and blasts the pigment into microscopic fragments, which are then transported from the body via the lymphatoc system.

Can I go swimming after my treatment?

-No swimming, working out for the next three day's as you must keep the area clean and dry.

Is sun exposure ok?

-No sun exposure for the next 2-3 weeks.  You should also avoid the sun 2-3 weeks before treatment.
